AHAVAS ACHIM YOUTH DEPARTMENT PRESENTS THE 2018 CHOLENT COOK-OFF: Join our Cholent Cook-off! Contestants will be serving up all different types of delicious cholent for the community to taste and then vote on for the 2018 Cholent of the Year! Cholents will be served at a special Kiddush in the upstairs social hall, after the Main Minyan THIS Shabbat, February 17. MATANOT L'EVYONIM: Please remember the neediest among us while celebrating Purim! The rabbi is collecting for Matanot L'Evyonim through Purim night. These donations will help families in Highland Park/Edison as well as those in Israel (through Od Yosef Chai) enjoy a respectable Purim. Checks should be made to Ahavas Achim Rabbi's Charity Fund and earmarked Matanot L'Evyonim.

MISHLOACH MANOT DEADLINE EXTENDED TO THIS SUNDAY!! Everyone is invited to participate in the annual Mishloach Manot fundraising drive. The cost for sending baskets to the entire Ahavas Achim membership in the Highland Park and South Edison areas is $85. Sponsorships are available for $136 and will include a special Purim gift. The deadline for participation is extended to this Sunday, February 18. Don't miss your absolute last chance to participate! Volunteers are still needed to help pack the baskets on Sunday, February 25 and to deliver the baskets on Purim day, Thursday, March 1. MISHLOACH MANOT TO ISRAEL: Do you have friends or relatives in Israel? Would you like to send them a beautiful package of Mishloach Manot? Would you like to send a package to an Israeli soldier for Purim? The Ahavas Achim Youth Department is ready to help make this happen. PURIM EXTRAVAGANZA! Ahavas Achim invites you and your family to a Purim Extravaganza on Wednesday, February 28! 7:00 p.m.: Community Megillah Reading: (We are proud to present a kids magic show in the downstairs Social Hall during this reading.) 7:45: Community-wide Purim Party and Break Fast including food, music, dancing and a family show performed by David Lawrence, a magician, mentalist and hypnotist.
